Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
The Provider Engagement Branch is seeking a passionate and motivated EL1 Assistant Director Provider Engagement to join our team.
The branch works with stakeholders to build a stable and sustainable provider market. They support the NDIS market to grow and deliver high-quality supports for our participants. The branch is responsible for establishing processes enabling appropriate and effective market engagement, coordination of provider exits and contributes to co-design activities involving key market segments.
Where you can add value • Developing market capability and capacity to ensure the support needs of participants are met.
  • Supporting the development and utilisation of channels to maintain knowledge of policies, processes and market strategies.
  • Supporting the development and promotion of resources that enable market development and improving the NDIA’s understanding of the market environment and provider experience, market conditions and challenges.
  • Undertaking the role as a contact for providers whilst supporting the provider market and NDIS provider processes, and representing the NDIA in discussions with providers, provider peak bodies and industry stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have prior leadership experience leading a team to achieve Agency goals and objectives. You will be an influential leader who supports and inspires their team. You will excel at Stakeholder engagement and represent the Agency at multiple events and forums to promote understanding and collaboration with service providers.
In addition to the above qualities, we are also looking for candidates who can coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on strategic or operational outcomes.

While this role is ideally performed from SA - Adelaide, VIC - Geelong, NSW - Newcastle, NSW – Hurstville, NSW - Charlestown or NT - Darwin, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with a possibility of extension of up to two years may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
