Indigeco Recruitment is supporting a major Federal Government Department in sourcing multiple EL1 Policy Officers for a 12-month contract.
The role can be performed on a non-ongoing basis, a labour-hire contract or via temporary S-26 transfer.
Only Australian Citizens with a Baseline clearance are eligible to apply for this opportunity. Remote working arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shaping strategic thinking by coordinating, analysing, and advising on the gas market and related issues.
- Influencing strategic outcomes through excellent communication skills and conveying complex issues succinctly to non-expert audiences, including in briefings and submissions for the Minister, the Cabinet, and senior executives.
- Proactively identifying issues, efficiencies, and opportunities for reform, and recommending innovative solutions, using critical thinking and sound judgment.
- Developing productive relationships, working collaboratively, and negotiating outcomes with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Assisting the Director in the management and leadership of the team.
- Experience in leading small teams, projects, or workstreams with demonstrated experience supervising staff and getting the best out of people.
- Experience in providing advice on issues and working with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the resolution of complex policy, regulatory, or coordination matters.
- Experience in policy including the ability to investigate and source key information to support decision making.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated time-management and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated experience in taking a strategic approach to difficult problems, including identifying, managing, and mitigating risk.
