Your new role
There are several EL1 Assistant Director roles available in various dynamic teams, offering interesting and challenging work. This organisation aims to align your expertise, skills, and interests with their operational needs in areas such as:
- Chemicals Policy development to safeguard workers from hazardous substances.
- Guidance on safe work practices across industries, including oversight of model WHS Regulations for high-risk tasks.
- Formulation of national workers' compensation policies and leading initiatives under the National Return to Work Strategy 2020-2030.
- Development and management of national policy for the model WHS Act, including its application in non-traditional workplace settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex policy issues with autonomy and lead a team of APS staff.
- Craft high-quality, evidence-based policy advice for emerging WHS and workers' compensation challenges.
- Exhibit exceptional written and oral communication abilities.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience of having led significant national projects and enhancing policy development. Policy-related experience or tertiary qualifications in health, industrial relations, science, regulatory reform, or industry policy will be viewed favourably. In addition to the ability to influence, strong leadership, project management skills, communication, and stakeholder management.
