About the Team:
The Service Design Planning Branch is responsible for delivering on programs or projects as prioritised by the Agency. This will be achieved through monitoring and tracking the application of agreed ways of working that guide the Service Design Division.
A Project Management Office team deliver this projects and programs service. The Service Design and Process Design team maintain and build key journey map and process map artefacts to support the Agency.
About the role:
The EL1 Project Manager will coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the Agency's objectives. You will be responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the Agency to advance the Agency's interests across a range of forums.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Developing, managing and implementing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency's project management framework.
- Contributing to project design, governance arrangements and operational integration.
- Ensuring project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Researching, reviewing and evaluating projects in specific operational or technical areas.
- Reporting on project outputs to stakeholders and overseeing regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
- Preparing and reviewing written material including business cases, plans, reports and executive briefs and corporate documentation.
- Undertaking budget management, monitoring expenditure and overseeing procurement and contract management activities.
- Identifying, assessing, managing, escalating and monitoring project risks, issues and benefits, including developing treatment strategies.
- Analysing project performance and coordinating quality management activities to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
- Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations.
- Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one.
- Ability to understand complex issues and interpret data to assist in determining root-cause issues.
- Deep understanding of Project Management and ability to use differing project tools.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and manage conflicting or challenging situations.
- Expert knowledge of Jira and Confluence
- Detailed understanding of SAP and Salesforce CRM platforms
- Detailed knowledge of NDIA operating systems, practice and processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work within and across teams, the ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to prioritise and allocate tasks in an efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
