Seeking a Section Manager who can deliver actionable insights and analytics to inform decision making and drive behavioural and operational change.
EL2 Section Manager - Workforce Planning- Initial 6-month contract with a possible 6-month extension available.
- Hourly rate ranging from $82.64 plus super to $99.95 plus super.

About the role:
- Lead the development and implementation of the client’s workforce strategy and Workforce Planning to address capability/capacity challenges and identified risks, issues and opportunities in the workforce
- Monitor progress against the client’s key people strategies being the People and Culture Strategy and Action Plans, Workforce Plan and determining synergies to achieve the best outcome for the client.
- Provide strategic advice to the CEO, the clients Senior Executive and relevant committees on Workforce Planning and strategies; and outcomes through appropriate monitoring and,
- Coordinate research into contemporary workforce management practices; and establish policies, strategies and frameworks to enhance organisational wide approaches to Workforce Planning and diversity that deliver sustainable outcomes.
- Investigate, analyse and interpret workforce information to identify possible workforce improvement opportunities for greater efficiencies.
- Proactively partner with stakeholders to provide innovative, sustainable and practicable workforce solutions, ensuring an accurate selection of skills and knowledge to meet current and future work force demands.
- Oversee job design activities to create jobs that are both motivating for employees and add value to the organisation.
- Identify staff capability and developing, coaching and mentoring staff, providing timely and constructive feedback and managing performance.
- Work supportively and cooperatively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to achieve shared outcomes.
- Engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in a sensitive, respectful and equitable manner.
- Lead and exemplify workplace safety, equity and diversity, participative management and environmental management in the workplace and acting in accordance with the client’s Values and Behaviours.
- Other duties as required.
- Knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of workforce plans and workplace strategies, and provision of high-level advice on complex people matters.
- Proven ability to identify issues and generate innovative and practical solutions.
- Knowledge and experience leading and managing a team in a high-volume service delivery, client focused environment with the ability to effectively lead, coach and mentor staff.
- Exceptional communication including the ability to influence and manage relationships with senior executives and a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Contemporary understanding of workplace issues and relevant legislation in a public-sector environment.
- High level of knowledge or experience driving positive organisational culture change.
- High level stakeholder engagement skills, including excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills, with an ability to prepare high quality written materials, and maintain, influence, and grow strategic relationships.
- Proven track record of delivering programs and initiatives, particularly in the areas for which the position is responsible.
- A good understanding of the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their cultures, and their issues and to be able to communicate respectfully with them.
- Tertiary qualifications in a human resource management or equivalent will be highly regarded.
