About the Role
We are currently seeking applications for the full time (37.5 hours per week) role of Elder Abuse Prevention and Support Practitioner (EAPSP) working within the EAPSS program located at our Robina venue. This role is a Parental Leave coverage role until 25 April 2025.
The purpose of this position is to provide a high standard of case management and Support to the individuals, couples and families impacted by Elder Abuse. The role also aims to promote and raise the knowledge of the signs of Elder Abuse to the target community.
This is a more varied position than a typical practitioner role and balances two key components - Case Management and Community Education. You’ll blend these approaches to own the end to end program participation in your venue.
- Case Management– By getting a deep understanding of the clients circumstances, you’ll make referrals and recommendation to services that help build a network of services, connections and Support.
- Community education – A key to the programs success and engagement will be education initiatives that promote and raise knowledge of signs of Elder Abuse. You must be able to quickly develop rapport with a range of community services and stakeholders, in turn promoting RAQ, the program and creating advocacy in the community.
Some other responsibilities include:

- Provide accurate and timely information, advice and options available
- Display sensitivity in the management and coordination of cases, often acting as first contact, you may need to gather information in a supportive manner, underpinned by a demonstrated understanding of theoretical knowledge of Elder Abuse. Counselling experience and qualifications are an advantage.
- Conduct risk and needs assessments
About You
To be successful in this position, you will have
- Undergraduate level qualifications in social or behavioural sciences
- Demonstrated experience in working with clients in a variety of settings and applying a case management framework within complex cases.
- Demonstrated previous experience in delivering case management and/or counselling to the clients affected by Elder Abuse is highly desired
- Demonstrated experience providing counselling in a variety of settings, for example individuals, couples, children, young people, families, and groups.
- Demonstrated experience in financial counselling.

The salary being offered is between $81,368.45 to $95,092.19per annum, pro rata for part time, to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation. We also offer our employees as follows:
