About the Business
Batchfire Resources Pty Ltd is an Australian private company that owns and operates the Callide Mine near Biloela in Central Queensland.
A long-standing operation, Callide Mine is an open-cut coal mine producing thermal coal for domestic power generation and alumina refining. The operation has significant recoverable coal reserves and long-term supply contracts in place, ensuring its long-term future. The operation has two coal handling plants at two different sites on the lease.
The mine utilizes draglines, dozers, excavators, loaders, water carts, graders and large truck fleets and coal handling facilities to produce coal for domestic and export customers.
About the Role
The Maintenance Planner will plan & schedule maintenance activities for electrical equipment and assets in additional to fixed asset infrastructure including but not limited to coal handling plants, buildings, water reticulation systems and be responsible for statutory areas of compliance including Fire Systems and Fire Suppression. The Maintenance Planner will ensure maintenance tasks are resourced appropriately and aligned with the budget. This role will provide input into weekly work management KPI's and have a focus on influencing workorder completion and throughput to achieve compliance targets. The Maintenance Planner will monitor performance against the plan and collaborating with maintenance personnel and supervisors conduct end of month accruals and commitments for planner group.
Skills and Attributes Required
- Have a trade or tertiary qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline – preferred but not essential if other levels of experience are provided;
- Experience with plant and Infrastructure Maintenance and familiarity with Maintenance Management Systems;
- Experience in similar mining equipment and/or plant maintenance/scheduling role
- Intermediate to high knowledge of word processing applications (MS Excel, Word, and Project);
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Open communication skills to effectively liaise with different internal and external stakeholders;
- Passion for analysis and problem solving;
- Attention to detail and good organisational skills;
- The ability to work well under pressure and within deadlines;
- Experience with data, document control and record management;
- An overriding commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibilities; and
- Actively investigate enhancements to procedures and processes that achieve improvements in performance, safety, job satisfaction and productivity.
