This is an exciting new opportunity for an Electrical Estimator to join our established estimating team. In this position, your main objective will be to deliver a successful outcome from the initial tender to contract award and operational handover.
You will be completing Tenders for High Voltage and Low Voltage Power Distribution and EV Services Projects. You will engage with stakeholders, providing direct assistance to our customers and collaborating with our Sales Team to ensure accurate and timely submission of their Tenders. The position reports to the Tendering Manager.
We are open to this role to be based out of offices at Campbelltown, Wetherill Park in NSW, Keysborough in VIC, or Welshpool in WA.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Understanding the project thoroughly and knowing its requirements well
- Interpreting technical drawings and gathering data for estimates
- Using software for analysis, forecasting and budgeting
- Evaluating subcontractors offers, managing risks and building relationships
- Preparing accurate reports and bids for clients and projects
- Ensuring compliance with laws, standards, and safety
Experience & attributes:
- Proficient problem-solving and innovative solution delivery for customers
- Effectively manage stakeholders at all levels, contributing to business development
- Familiarity with SIMPRO is advantageous but not essential
- Utilise team expertise for innovation and value addition
- Demonstrate proven commercial acumen
- Collaborate seamlessly within a high-performing team
- Established experience as a Tendering Engineer or in a similar role
- Familiar with financial and project management principles
- In-depth knowledge of research, data analysis methods, and estimation formulas
- Proficient in relevant software, such as SIMPRO
- Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities
- Display thoroughness, reliability, and strong organizational skills
- Exhibit initiative and problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment
- Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Strong attention to detail with a 'can-do' attitude and a desire to learn and progress
- Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Electrical considered), Diploma, or relevant trade background
- Possess a current driver's license and the ability to drive to site
