The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Electrical / Mechanical Fitter. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your primary objective is the safe and reliable operation of Kalfresh plant and equipment. You will help keep our equipment operational and serviced, maintained, and repaired as needed. Plant uptime and the timely installation, testing and commissioning of new equipment is vital to this role. 

Other key responsibilities include:

• The execution of the planned maintenance schedule.
• Ongoing service, maintenance, and upgrade of electro-mechanical and refrigeration equipment.
• The generation, and analysis, of diagnostic and test records.
• Ability to assess, develop and upkeep electrical drawing, manuals, and instructions.
• Management of stock levels related to electrical and mechanical supplies.
• Review and ensure stability to allocated departmental budget. 
• General site maintenance and repairs as directed.
• Research and integration of new automation projects and production lines. 
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions. 
• Perform regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards. 

About you

Importantly, this role is only suited to those who can put the safety of people and the food we manufacture first. 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Current valid Electrical Fitter / mechanic license.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, blueprints, and diagrams. 
• Experience installing or servicing production automation machinery.
• High standard of workmanship for electrical equipment installation.
• Ability to collaborate with other team members or work independently.
• Elevated levels of verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Methodical approach to problem solving and equipment fault finding.
• Ability to identify, analyse and improve our production processes.
• Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office (e.g. MS Outlook, MS word and MS Excel).
• Strong organisational skills including planning, scheduling, and time management of planned maintenance.
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role working with automated industrial processes and equipment using electric motors and VSD.

This is a permanent full-time position based in our Kalbar office, so would ideally suit someone who lives locally or wanting a tree-change to the Scenic Rim region.
