A rewarding opportunity currently exists for an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our Sibanye Stillwater Australia team based at Karumba Port.
This position will be offered on a 15/13 day-shift roster (FIFO) or 14/14 Local, located in the popular tourist town of Karumba, QLD.
The core purpose of this position is to effectively maintain electrical, instrumentation & controls (EI&C) equipment in the Facility and repair electrical breakdowns associated with Plant equipment and electrical infrastructure to achieve safe production targets.
Key accountabilities shall include:
- The primary focus of this role is to support the facility operated by the by diligently carrying out EI&C maintenance, repair and recondition jobs of machinery, control systems and substations as directed to a satisfactory standard of quality workmanship and in a timely manner.
- Preventative maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and manuals with a focus on maintaining safety and maximising production. Perform all routine preventative maintenance as per the daily, weekly, monthly and annual schedules.
- Resolve operational or technical equipment problems to minimise processing interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns/failures.
- Ensure assigned trades work is completed safely and in accordance with quality requirements, company policy and all statutory requirements.
- Initiate and complete Work Orders and ensure timely sign off / close off for completed work along with relevant feedback information and other reports as required.
- Resolve operational or technical equipment problems to minimise manufacturing interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns/failures.
- Provide immediate responses to emergency work orders.
- Inspect on a routine basis electrical equipment and other components to ensure they remain functional and comply the statutory requirements, as well as to identify any hazards or issues..
- Monitor levels of electrical consumables and order as required.
- Identification of potential plant improvements, and implementation of plant modifications as required
- Participate in HSEC training and discussions, daily Toolbox Talks, workplace inspections and audits as required
- Other duties that may be requested or required from time to time
Applicants should possess the following skills, knowledge and qualifications:
Technical:
- High level of DCS, PCS, Scada experience. (e.g.: Rockwell, Citect, Foxboro, etc)
- Industrial electrical, HV and Instrumentation experience
- High level organisation skills, including time management, prioritisation
- Intermediate computing skills.
People:
- Team player with the ability to maintain relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Customer focus
Knowledge:
- Sound knowledge of asset management and plant reliability principles
- Safety and environmental practices and regulations
- Change management and continuous improvement
Experience:
- 5 Years post trade experience, Electrical and Instrumentation (dual trade) experience with high voltage and low voltage, PLC’s, DCS/PCS and motors.
- Contractor Management 2-3 years
- MMS experience such as Pronto
Education, Qualifications, Tickets, Licences:
- Electrical Trade Certificate with HV and I&C qualifications
- Elevated Work Platform operator (desirable)
- Forklift operation
- High Risk Work Licence
- Current C and MR Class driver license (manual)
