About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Tradesperson (Mobile Plant) operating on a variable roster supplementing the rostered shift employees reporting to the Electrical Supervisor. This position will perform efficient and effective maintenance across a variety of equipment to an engineering standard, ensuring safe and reliable operations at the Fremantle Terminal.
Variable Salaried Employees (VSEs) work a non-fixed roster to support the maintenance needs of the business and are guaranteed a minimum annual salary as set out in our Enterprise Agreement. They must be reasonably available but have a degree of flexibility in deciding which shifts they are unavailable for work.
Key accountabilities
- Undertake repairs and refurbishment to required standard ensuring codes of practice are aligned
- Operate in compliance with safe work practices, Australian standards, Company procedures and policies
- Maintaining variety of equipment types including ( not limited too) High Voltage network, Infrastructure, Quay Cranes, RTGs, Forklifts and Reachstackers
- Ability to undertake routine and repetitive maintenance activities;
- Conduct regular planned electrical maintenance and repairs/breakdowns;
- Complete job reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
- Upgrade electrical circuitry drawings to reflect modifications/additions.
- Undertake projects as advised and directed.
- Successful completion of an apprenticeship in an appropriate trade qualification with a current West Australian Electrical Workers License or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar industrial environment.
- LVR/CPR competency.
- Experience of HV (11kv) switching
- Previous experience in electrical procedures in a workshop and/or industrial environment.
- Experience and knowledge of PLC systems (preferably Siemens) and Variable Speed Drives essential.
- Experience with Operational Technologies and automated machinery/system.
- Experience in Automotive electrical desirable
- An understanding of equipment functionality and service requirements.
- Thorough understanding of regular maintenance requirements.
- Ability to work at heights with High Risk License.
- Literacy and numeracy to complete standard forms.
- Safety critical attitude to work;
- Ability to learn and show initative; and
- Experience with diesel generators, or similar, lift industry or exposure to automated mobile equipment would be highly regarded.
This position is required to do shift work including nights, weekends and public holidays
