The Opportunity
MIGAS is proud to be partnering with Stanmore, one of Australia’s largest suppliers of metallurgical coal with a focus on safety and sustainability.
Undertaking this four-year apprenticeship at South Walker Creek Coal Mine (35km west from Nebo) will give you the opportunity to become a trade qualified and earn your UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.
You will learn the ins and outs of and develop the skills to install, service, maintain, repair, isolate, test and commission a wide variety of coal mining fixed infrastructure.
This could include high voltage works, communications infrastructure, and back up electrical systems.
About You- You will bring a passion for the trade and be willing to listen, learn and actively seek out new learning opportunities
- Ability to work well in a team
- You will possess a good level of language, literacy and numeracy skills
- A strong focus on safety
- Have completed Year 12 with high grades in maths
- Have a strong interest in electrical work
- Completion or near completion of an electrical pre-apprenticeship will be an advantage
- Possess a current Construction White Card
- Reside in Nebo or the Bowen Basin area (drive in and drive out - no buses from Moranbah)
