About the role
Our extensive Brisbane northside (Virginia) based projects workshop is seeking a qualified, hands-on electrician, with relevant experience to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to utilise your relevant skills and experience and provide suitable technical support and guidance to our highly motivated electrical team, including apprentices.
As an electrician, you will be responsible for:
- Interpreting electrical design drawings
- Assembling electrical and telecommunications equipment including solar systems
- Completing a large variety of project builds in the workshop
- Working hands-on with a range of telecommunications power systems
- Conducting tests and troubleshooting
- Working with battery systems, (12,24 and 48 volt)
- Providing technical advice and support to the team
Skills and experience
We are seeking a team player with the ability to work collaboratively with our workshop team, with the following skills and experience
- Trade Certified Electrician with a current State Electrical License
- A minimum of five years proven experience as an electrician
- Thorough understanding of electrical safety regulations and standards (e.g., AS/NZS 4836, AS/NZS 3000, IEC 61439)
- Relevant experience working with solar, direct current, battery backup systems and telecommunications power supplies will be an advantage
- An ability to interpret construction and electrical design drawings with strong analytical and problem-solving skills is highly desirable
- High level of attention to detail and quality assurance
- Strong safety focus
Relevant exposure to the communications industry is highly favoured, as well as a thorough ability to work with high safety and quality standards.
