13AXENT is an electronic engineering company specialising in the design, manufacture, supply, and support of LED-based visual communication systems. We offer a superior level of expertise and service, allowing our customers to receive a bespoke product designed specifically for their project needs. From start to finish, we offer complete turn-key solutions from design, and hardware to software and onsite installation.
Operating for over 35 years and employing over 100+ staff, we have developed many of the systems that the bulk of Australians use daily, including but not limited to road systems, transit passenger, and sporting displays.
Some of these include electronic speed signs in tunnels, school zones, service stations, car parks, sporting arenas, and rail & bus stations throughout Australian roads.
Due to significant company growth and successfully securing major contracts in Queensland & Northern NSW, we require additional staff to complement our organisation at our brand-new factory in Yalata, QLD.
Our ideal candidate to join the existing team will possess the following attributes:
- Must have completed Cert III or higher in the relevant field.
- Competent in the use of hand and power tools.
- Competent in using various other electronic test equipment.
- Have excellent communication skills, initiative, and logical reasoning.
- Ability to work independently as well as be a team player and contribute to the team environment.
- Needs an understanding of analogue and digital electronics.
- Show initiative and logical reasoning.
- Familiar with the use of Windows OS and MS Office.
- Car license – Mandatory.
- White Card, EWP, forklift, medium rigid, RIW card, and first aid licenses/certificates will be advantageous.
Main job role:
- Field works - Onsite repairs and maintenance.
- Travelling daily attending site QLD including Northern NSW.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair onsite.
- Carry out preventative routine maintenance on various products and equipment.
- Assist in maintaining department stock levels.
- Prepare detailed service and failure records and reports.
- Complete documentation in-house and out in the field inc. toolbox and SWMS.
- Working on the production floor assisting with manufacturing and assembly.
- Assist in In-house repair and testing of printed circuit boards (PCB).
- QA & Testing of sub-assemblies and final products prior to dispatch.
- Be in rotation for on-call services
- Be able to travel for away work for up to 2 weeks.
- Training of apprentice/trainees.

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, but due to the nature of the industry and service levels Axent provides to our clients the successful candidate must be prepared to work outside of normal working hours and some weekends.
Applicants must have Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a full working visa and be willing to undertake a medical and consent to a police security background check.
