The opportunity
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract opportunity for a qualified Electronics Technician to provide expertise in the manufacturing, assembly, testing, calibration, and repair of all aspects of IMDEX’s world class electronic parts and products. Major responsibilities include:
- Working autonomously to apply a wide range of technical service skills and processes to carry out manufacture, service and/or repair to products and tools
- Operates all tools, machinery and equipment efficiently and safely to ensure satisfactory completion of assigned duties
- Soldering (ensuring fume extraction and pressure), crimping, wiring
- Diagnosing & repairing downhole survey tools and accessories
- Assembling and calibrating downhole survey tools and accessories
- Identifying and reporting systemic issues in the repair of instruments
- Calibration and confidence checks of instruments
- Regular identification, segregation and actioning of non-conforming items
To be successful
To be successful in this role you will have an interest in electronics or previous experience working in a repetitive assembly environment. A can-do attitude is essential as we will train the successful candidate in all aspects of the position. Your high attention to detail, ability to thrive under pressure, self-initiative, flexibility and excellent computing skills will ensure your suitability. Additional requirements include:
- 1+ years’ relevant work experience preferred
- High level of attention to detail
- Work autonomously on set tasks through to completion
- A positive and can-do attitude
