ABOUT THE ROLE
We seek a dedicated and experienced Energy Engagement and Education Advisor to join our team. This is a full-time, fixed-term position from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2027. Reporting to the General Manager of Water and Energy, the successful candidate will be instrumental in fostering meaningful engagement, consultation, and Education within Queensland's agriculture sector regarding the state's renewable energy transition.
What you’ll do - a snapshot
- Drive informed engagement in key policy discussions, community consultations, and projects related to renewable energy transition within the agriculture sector.
- Provide timely input into energy sector policies and initiatives, ensuring stakeholders are informed of farmers' requirements and considerations.
- Engage with key energy stakeholders to plan and respond to priorities in the renewable energy transition.
- Facilitate targeted engagement with farmers in specific regional locations through QFF's peak body membership.
- Identify and coordinate emerging opportunities in agriculture and energy transition to support informed decision-making by farmers.
- Promote case studies to share experiences of farmers interacting with renewable development and transmission infrastructure.
What you’ll bring - the essentials
- Demonstrated project management and/or policy development experience.
- Strong stakeholder Engagement and communication skills.
- Sound verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Understanding of the Queensland agricultural sector and/or regional communities.
- High level of computer literacy, especially in MS Office suite and MS Teams.
Nice to have
- Understanding or quick acquisition of knowledge about Queensland's renewable energy transition and related policy.
- Ability to synthesize research and consultation feedback into key themes, issues, and messaging.
