The Insurance Practice advises leading international and domestic clients in the Life, Property & Casualty, Health, and Reinsurance sectors, in the areas of M&A, Strategy, Operations, and Financial Effectiveness. In Asia-Pacific, we serve Top 3 players in each major domestic market, as well as the prominent Asian Regionals and leading Western multinationals. We operate at the CEO and CXO levels, and have established a reputation for deep industry expertise and impactful advice. Key Responsibilities:
Engagement Managers direct the day-to-day work of our consulting teams, working side-by-side with our clients. The Engagement Manager position offers excellent career and growth opportunities for talented, highly motivated professionals with notable prior experience. Engagement Managers are given the opportunity for rapid professional growth, to participate in entrepreneurial work, and to share in the success of the team. Initial responsibilities may include:
- Create high impact client outcomes through: overseeing and guiding the consulting team as they develop hypotheses; manage data collection, model creation and analyses; conduct primary and secondary research; creatively tackle information limitations; and surface insights
- Supporting Partners in project execution through excellent project management including: work planning, managing work flow, upward management and coaching/developing more junior team members
- Managing client relationships and networks, presenting to senior audiences, and working day-to-day with senior and mid-level clients
- Effectively communicating issues and solutions in formal and informal settings, through written and verbal communication
Experience Required:
- Exposure to the Insurance industry, either through a Consultancy or Corporate environment
- Undergraduate or advanced degree from a well-recognized academic program
- Financial experience/certification (e.g. actuarial and / or CFA experience) would be a positive; though it is not mandatory
- Prior consulting experience is a big positive
Skills and Attributes:
Engagement Managers serve as the on-the-ground leaders on client projects, working closely with client executives, OW consultants and Partners. While specific responsibilities will vary based on previous experience the ideal candidate will have the following:
Familiarity with one or more of the Insurance sectors of Life insurance, General Insurance, Health, Reinsurance and Asset/investment management.
Thematic experience may include, for example
Strategy - e.g. portfolio and product, growth, distribution, internationalization, M&A
Operations - e.g. claims, underwriting, technology, operating models, post-merger integration
Financial effectiveness - e.g. risk, capital, asset valuation, models, regulation
Experience in project-based, team-oriented environments (4+ years), with a track record of leading and managing teams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast paced environments
Ability to conduct sophisticated analyses, draw conclusions and present recommendations
Outstanding communication skills; comfort in presenting to senior executives
Collaborative approach to working with teams and Partners
Intellectual capital to support business development activities.
