Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the management of clinical trial execution from study award to completion. The Senior Project Manager will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of project delivery activities for Doherty Clinical Trials, including resourcing, communication and reporting to sponsors and senior management, oversight of execution of projects, decision making, risk mitigation, safety and contingency plans and reporting to ensure high quality clinical research and results. 

Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Project Manager will oversee the project management team and will have the opportunity to adapt to specific clinical trial requirements and business needs. 

The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the project team (Clinical Project Managers, Study Coordinators etc) and other key functions such as Clinical Operations Director, Quality and Compliance Director, Medical Officers, Laboratory Manager, Pharmacy Manager etc., to support clinical trial execution.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in strategic development of project delivery activities, including resourcing, reporting to sponsors and senior management, oversight of execution and delivery of projects, decision making, risk mitigation, safety, and contingency plans, and reporting to ensure high quality clinical trial research and results. 

To be successful in this position you will have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership experience in the management of clinical trials and project management.  In addition, you will have outstanding communication skills and the ability to foster a connected, engaged, and high performing team culture, within the Project Management team and organisation.  You will be empowered to demonstrate judgement within the role and will be responsible for decision-making to prioritise conflicting demands and meet deadlines. You will  be a keen team player with the ability to support others in the team as needed. 

• Demonstrated leadership of clinical or project management team within a clinical trial setting in a complex agile and innovative organisation. 
• Detailed understanding of GCP and experience in early phase clinical trials (experience in early phase / phase 1 clinical trial unit is highly desirable).
• Strong interpersonal skills, confidence in management of sponsor and partner interactions, providing leadership within the project department to ensure issue management, demonstrate creative thinking mindset and problem resolution. 
• Able to balance department resources and to manage portfolio of projects, to ensure delivery of timelines and high-quality data.
• Understanding of quality and compliance and the importance of research outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with key stakeholders within a clinical trial. 
• High level of attention to detail.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership and develop a collaborative team environment for the Project Team, and support others leaders within the Doherty Clinical Trials as needed. 
• Ensure strategic mindset and demonstrate problem solving skills to enhance relationships with partners and sponsors.
• Experience in use of electronic Clinical Trial Management Systems will be highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in science/health/medical/ nursing field required. 

To protect the health and safety of participants, staff and other healthcare workers, vaccination for certain diseases is highly recommended for staff.

This role will also require completion of a National Police Check.
