The Role
This is a unique opportunity for a highly driven and passionate Engagement Manager- SDA. You will have experience in working with people living with complex disabilities and be passionate about delivering person-centred outcomes for these tenants. Reporting to the Director and working closely with our Community Housing Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the SDA customer journey. This is more than just making homes ‘fit’ - this role is about changing lives and housing people with disabilities in quality homes that are customized to individual needs, choices and aspirations.
The position will need to develop and foster professional relationships, source and assess customers, partner with care providers and assist customers in the areas of SDA eligibility.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the pursuit of excellence in SDA customer service outcomes.
- Maintain and build relationships with existing customers and key referrers such as Support Coordinators, Plan Managers, Allied Health Professionals and major rehabilitation settings.
- Guide participants, families, and support coordinators in navigating the SDA process through the NDIS
- Provide SDA information & discuss eligibility criteria with people from a range of different perspectives, needs and backgrounds
- Facilitate in-depth face-to-face interviews with all key stakeholders including clients and their support network, sometimes asking difficult questions
- Undertake compatibility matching for participants moving into share housing
- Promote business to potential clients, support providers & the wider community
- Assist in compliance and administration tasks to support best practices and satisfy regulatory related requirements
- Develop expert understanding in the area of SDA & NDIS and impart knowledge to direct and indirect customers – B2B and B2C
- Contribute to the business strategy by drawing on industry experience & networks
The Person
Ability Housing is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, resilient professional team player to lead their tenancy team. You will be able to have some difficult conversations and celebrate some fantastic outcomes.
Degree in an Allied Health field (OT, PT, Psych, RN, SW) or Experienced Specialist Support Coordinator
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Fine-tuned presentation, report reviewing and time management skills
- Solid computer literacy
- Knowledge of the NDIS
- Lived experience
