This role aims to engage and collaborate with key stakeholders, community members, and families to improve educational outcomes for First Nations People by ensuring children have access and opportunity to engage in education and learning opportunities.As an Engagement Officer, your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Develop and facilitate activities that promote the engagement of young people in education and learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to offer activities that support the development of children, young people and families.
  • Work alongside and empower children and families to be engaged in education and activities that enhance their skills, knowledge and confidence.
About YouThe successful candidate will be highly organised and have strong communication skills together with the following:
  • Aboriginality is an occupational requirement for this position under 50D of the Equal opportunity Act 1984.
  • Experience working within a similar role.
  • Effective communication skills with a wide range of people from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Ability to provide mentoring and support to families and co-workers.
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills, including conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within the community.
  • Ability to develop and facilitate action plans and to report on progress.
  • Computer literacy.
If you are successful in this position you will need to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance (within the last 6 months).It is essential that you meet the above criteria and are permitted to work and remain in Australia with no limitations to be considered.WHY JOIN US
