About the opportunity

The Engagement Officer plays a pivotal role in enhancing the University's presence at student recruitment events and activations across our campuses and beyond. Sitting in the Vice President (Future Student and Outreach) portfolio, this diverse role involves meticulous administrative support, organising events and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, all in support of our Future Student functions to drive enrolment growth and strengthen community engagement. Core responsibilities include:

  • Plan, execute, and manage all aspects of University representation at recruitment events, expos, and activations; including logistics, project planning, catering, transport, staff travel and venue bookings.
  • Network, engage and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to optimise the success of outreach, recruitment activities, and activations. This includes pro-active collaboration to optimise impact and minimise duplication of activity.
  • Oversee the inventory and materials for events and activations, including the management and distribution of merchandise needed for events and expos.

This role requires flexibility in working hours and some domestic travel in order to support student engagement activities during key recruitment periods.

About you

We are seeking a candidate who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys working closely with a team to achieve shared goals. You possess high-level administrative skills with experience working in events or coordinating programs regarded as advantageous. Whether you come from an administrative, events or marketing background, your ability to maintain meticulous organisation and to contribute positively to this high performing team will be key to your success in this role. More specifically, you will have:

  • Relevant experience and/or education/training in administration, project or event management. Experience in events or coordinating programs will be highly regarded, but not essential.
  • Organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise, apply attention to detail and organise events and activities.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to operate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams and adapt your approach to changes in environment or circumstances.
  • An understanding of fundamental marketing, promotion and communication strategies for events and activities, aimed at driving initiatives that enhance the impact and success of outreach programs
Salary and benefits

  • Full-time, continuing (permanent)
  • Located at either Gold Coast or Lismore. Relocation support available.
  • HEW Level 5. The base salary ranges from $76,892 - $85,445 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $99,970.
