Join the Civmec TeamCivmec has secured the award of a major construction contract for the Rio Tinto Western Range Project at their Paraburdoo site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The iron ore project includes Greenfields and Brownfields scope with the construction of a new Run of Mine (ROM) pad, primary crushing facility, overland conveying circuit and modifications to the Coarse Ore Stockpile (COS) and downstream conveying system.
The Greenfields scope includes a new primary crushing facility, discharge conveyor and transfer station and a 17-kilometre overland conveying system that transfers the ore through to the existing Paraburdoo COS. The overland conveying system includes multiple conveyor flights, transfer stations and creek crossings to link the new primary crusher to the existing process plant.
The Brownfields scope includes extensive modifications to the current Paraburdoo COS and downstream conveying system. This includes addition of new feed points at the COS, new ore transfer equipment, conveyor replacements, conveyor upgrades, drive replacements and a range of other general modifications to receive the new ore stream.

The RoleThe SMP Engineers are key members of our Project Delivery Team managing project scope, client interaction and involved in all aspects of project execution including construction, quality, commercial and management activities.
Provide technical engineering support and leadership to the project teams including managing technical challenges and queries, inspections and interpretation of design deliverables
Interface and be involved with other project functions such as quality, commercial, construction and project controls
About YouTertiary qualifications in engineering (structural, mechanical or piping engineering) or construction management
Minimum 5 years previous project experience on Construction SMP Projects ideally in the mining sector, oil and gas sector
Demonstrated experience and skills in project planning, scheduling and cost control
Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Good leadership skills
