Due to the company experiencing rapid growth, SEL seeks a highly motivated individual for an Electrical Engineering Intern position based in our Melbourne office.
Reporting to the Group Manager, the role will require a driven and enthusiastic individual to support the delivery of engineering efforts required for the technical solutions with consideration of quality, cost and schedule
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide technical support to SEL staff & customers.
2. Develop and maintain knowledge in SEL processes and technologies.
3. Perform testing on new and existing technology.
4. Document and communicate test results.
5. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
6. Understand. Create. Simplify.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Current student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in programming and script files
- Practical knowledge of 3-phase power systems
- Working knowledge of emulators and logic analyzers
- Ability to use MS Windows and serial port terminal emulation software
- Practical knowledge of SEL protective relays & automation controllers
- Ability to use Microsoft Vision
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
