Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance professionals in a plant that operates 24/5-6 days per week, driving plant reliability and minimising downtime to ensure production targets can be met. Your team will consist of permanent trades (mechanical & electrical), supervisors, a maintenance planner and external contractors. Your remit will focus on providing strong leadership skills, direction and support to your teams to ensure they are able to perform at an optimal level.
As a leader, you will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, a solid track record in problem-solving and maintaining high standards.
You will have extensive experience leading maintenance and reliability functions within recycling, Crushing and Screening, Quarrying or Manufacturing would be highly regarded. A preference is to be degree qualified in mechanical or electrical engineering, however, trades qualified individuals with relevant experience will also be considered. Your passion and drive for meeting targets and KPI's will filter through to your team members, developing a culture of accountability and measurement of performance, striving to meet industry leading standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Management of all maintenance employees and maintenance contracted workers onsite.
- Establishing and driving corporate procedures to ensure standardization of maintenance practices and reporting.
- Being a key member of the site leadership team, whilst developing your own high performing Maintenance team.
- Working closely with Group Engineering to ensure equipment is installed in the factory to the highest standard
- Lead crucial projects, ensuring they are delivered within set timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Identify, develop, and implement a comprehensive Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Asset Register
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience in planning maintenance operations
- Hands-on technical application of maintenance functions
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Comprehensive understanding of production processes
- A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate subject, such as mechanical or electrical engineering, or; trade-based, engineering or management qualifications.
