About your new exciting role with us:
- Supervise and mentor a team of engineers
- Organise workflow to meet specifications and deadlines
- Provide leadership and direction to your team, developing them into a high performing team
- Prepare, review and monitor policies, procedures and work instructions
- Liaise with customers, auditors and external parties as required
- Provide training, direction, support and resources to persons reporting to this position to enable completion of their duties and correctly implement them
- Read and interpret engineering/architectural drawings, sketches and work specifications
- Measure and mark sheetmetal according to drawings and templates
- Plan, conceptualise and create mechanical designs for new products
- Develop sheetmetal components from prototyping to production
- Conduct regular Research & Development assignments
- Develop patterns for sheetmetal, using computer assisted design and drafting (CAD) software package
- Program Laser, Brake Press and Turret Machines to cut and fold sheetmetal
- Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications
- Perform engineering calculations to support design work
About you:
- Experienced Design Engineer within manufacturing sheetmetal
- Bachelors qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Sheetmetal experience highly desirable
