Our client, Hellermanntyton Australia Pty. Limited is a leading manufacturer and supplier of products for fastening, fixing, installing, connecting, insulating, protecting and identifying electrical cables and data network infrastructure. The client also develops parts for customer-specific industrial applications.
The client is looking for a full time, permanent technically competent Engineering Technologist to join its team and contribute towards the growing success of the company. The focus of the role is to analyse technical tasks, deal with technical inquiries from customers, and provide solution as required.
The role will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of a technological product or operation are soundly based in theory and fundamental principle and interpreting technological possibilities, to investigate interfaces, limitations, consequences, costs, and risks.
You must possess ability to apply knowledge of physics and mathematics to solve complex problems and designing blueprints and plans for ongoing and future engineering projects.
This job is an immediate start. The successful candidate must work well independently and, in a team, be reliable and take responsibility and pride in their work.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree with minimum three years' relevant experience
- Investigate and evaluate current work processes to identify area of improvements and implement changes to achieve better products and reduce costs
- Analyse existing technology
- Prepare drawings of new technologies by coordinating with the product managers and overseas factories
- Produce and submit proposals to management for modifications/upgrades to equipment and work processes
- Make recommendations to the customers on how to improve existing technologies and solutions for their respective problems
- Run technology through testing procedures and notes findings to find the best suited solution for the customers
- Perform research on product technologies and structures to implement into design concepts
- Present product ideas to relevant team members for brainstorming
- Ensure procedures are aligned with engineering principles and safety regulations
- Interact effectively with other professionals, tradespersons, clients and stakeholders, to ensure that technology outcomes and developments fully integrate with the overall system and context
- Liaise with internal and external staff including other associated companies, customers with relevant information within the required time frame and in accordance with company policy
- Raise technical quotes and tenders for sales team when needed
- Maintain ISO 9001 quality management system requirements
- Identify key business requirements and provide ERP (Navision) support
- A bachelor degree or higher in the relevant field (Engineering or Technology)
- At least 3 years' relevant work experience
- Excellent and accurate data entry skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent quality, health and safety knowledge
- Strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
- Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems (Navision preferred)
- A methodical approach to work with good time technical and management skills
