Every #33minutes an Australian's life is turned upside-down by a diagnosis of epilepsy.
You can help us #turnthingsaround by joining our team!
We are gearing up for a once in a generation change in the way support is provided to people living with epilepsy in Australia. This is an exciting time to join our agile and high performing team!
Internally known as a Comprehensive Support Worker, this role is offered as a permanent, part time position (0.8FTE).
You will be the powerhouse of the Living Well Team in achieving our impact statement of an individual understood and supported to live well. The role provides information, education and psycho-social supports to people living with epilepsy, their families and support networks across Queensland.
Support is primarily via phone or video calls, however we also hold regular community events, at times work in major tertiary clinics, we deliver epilepsy training in organisations across SEQ and there will be opportunities to spend time on the ground in communities across Queensland. Being part of a phone in-take service roster may also be part of this role – all of these aspects make this an exciting and varied role!
The role is part of our Brisbane-based team and is needed Tuesday to Friday each week. Limited out-of-hours work is required (based on a roster) that may require you to deliver training until approx. 8pm once or twice a month.
Reporting to the Coordinator, Comprehensive Supports, this role offers challenge, opportunity, and the ability to work with a dedicated, talented, and supportive team. Well-developed knowledge of epilepsy is not essential because we can train you on that, but your attitude and willingness will be key to your success.
