Enrolled or Registered Nurse, Surgical Assistant

Oral Facial & Implant Surgery (www.oralsurgery.sydney) are looking for;

• A Surgical Assistant who is an Enrolled or Registered Nurse who has experiencing with assisting with minor surgical procedures (Wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, bone grafting, corrective jaw surgery, biopsies).
• Someone with admin, reception and sterilising experience is preferred.
• Based in Wollongong, you will be assisting Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons in our rooms and in theatre. potentially also in local hospitals. 
• Part-time, Monday - Wednesday

Qualifications & experience

• Enrolled or Registered Nurse
• Theatre experience or dental assistant experience will be looked at favourably.
• Experience with setting up for sterile surgical procedures
• Oral Health Therapists or Dental Hygienists will be considered
• Treatment coordination

We are looking for someone who is;

4. Experienced in Dental assisting especially assisting with oral surgery, or other surgical procedures
5. Quick and eager to learn
6. Keen to find solutions and fix problems
7. Motivated and able to take the initiative to work independently
8. Somewhat flexible with work hours and able to work occasional Saturdays
9. Someone with receptionist or admin experience 

Your role will include;

1. Assisting with surgical procedures (oral surgery, dental implants, maxillofacial surgery, biopsies) under local anaesthesia, sedation and general anaesthesia
2. General reception work
3. Greeting patients and taking payments
4. Procedural sedation
5. Working at multi sites 
6. Treatment coordination

Preferred but not essential:

1. Experience assisting with oral and maxillofacial surgery 
2. Experience working in an operating theatre

Initial training will involve having to travel to the Narellan or Liverpool clinic.
