WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint an experienced Environmental Advisor.
Job Summary:
As an Environmental Advisor for SSTOM project, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the project complies with environmental regulations, minimizes its impact on the environment, and upholds sustainability standards. You will provide expert guidance, oversee environmental management, and contribute to the project's commitment to responsible environmental practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Environmental Compliance:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant environmental laws, regulations, and permits.
- Stay current with evolving environmental standards and practices and integrate them into project operations.
- Conduct comprehensive environmental impact assessments to identify potential environmental risks and develop strategies for mitigation.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement impact reduction measures.
- Develop and maintain the project's Environmental Management Plan, outlining policies, procedures, and practices for minimizing environmental impacts.
- Regularly update the EMP in response to changing project requirements.
- Implement environmental monitoring programs to track project-related impacts, such as air and water quality, noise levels, and wildlife habitats.
- Prepare regular environmental reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies, environmental organizations, and local communities to ensure transparency and cooperation.
- Address concerns and inquiries related to the project's environmental practices.
- Develop and oversee effective waste management strategies, including recycling and disposal, to minimize the project's environmental footprint.
- Promote the use of sustainable materials.
- Provide environmental training and awareness programs to project personnel to ensure compliance with environmental practices.
- Promote a culture of environmental responsibility within the project team.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans to address environmental incidents and accidents promptly and effectively.
- Maintain accurate and organized environmental records, including permits, reports, and correspondence.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is readily available for audits and inspections.
- Tertiary degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in environmental management and compliance on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Thorough knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent project management abilities, including the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution.
