About the role
We are looking for a GIS Specialist System who has experience in maintaining and administering an Enterprise GIS.
This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, safety conscious professional to join a multi-disciplined team. The ideal candidate will be required to undertake a range of activities related to maintaining and monitoring a complex GIS Enterprise to ensure RTIO’s Enterprise GIS is functioning and meets the needs of the organisation.
Reporting to the GIS Manager within the Rio Tinto Iron Ore Tenure & GIS team you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and administering a GIS Enterprise environment
- Monitoring system performance and tuning spatial services for optimal performance
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing system issues
- Supporting business system integrations complying with cyber security standards
- Providing technical and architectural framework advice for the development of spatial systems
- Documenting processes and code
What you’ll bring
- A tertiary qualification in GIS, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- 7+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Excellent understanding of ArcGIS Enterprise and FME Flow
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft Window Server platform
- Good understanding of Microsoft SQL Server
- Advanced skills in programming languages and version control (such as REST, SQL, Python)
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Understanding of the technical and architectural framework for the development of spatial systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively

This role will be based in Perth, nestled in the cities CBD.
