Acciona has been awarded the Design & Construct contract for the Singleton Bypass. This major project will see construction of 8.5km of single lane highway with multiple bridge structures and upgrades to local intersections. This diverse and challenging project has a 2.5year construction program ensuring longevity in your role and presenting opportunities to grow within the business.
Reporting to the Project Director, this role is responsible for preparing, implementing, and maintaining the requirements of the Environmental & Sustainability Management plan for the Project, ensuring ISCA requirements are met.
Key responsibilities include
- Lead environmental management for the project, including leadership of direct reports, key interface with design, engineering and procurement
- Ensure all environmental aspects of the project are addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery
- Identify all authority requirements associated with the project and the management of all necessary approvals
- Forward planning of team resources and of obtaining necessary approvals and licenses and obtain all relevant environmental approvals
- Maintain external certification of the management system in the area of environmental, reporting regularly on environmental performance to the project
- Assists in the supervision and coordination of resource allocation with the expectation that you would encourage effective teamwork and foster positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives
Experience: Minimum 5 years in environmental roles, specializing in impact assessments, EMPs, audits for infrastructure projects.
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in science, natural resources, environment, or a related field.
Expertise: Strong knowledge of environmental issues, mitigation strategies, and proficiency in reviewing assessments and writing reports.
Skills: Familiarity with Australian environmental regulations, proven stakeholder negotiation abilities, project management success, and previous engagement in community consultation.
