ABOUT THE ROLE
Do you want to work within a dynamic environmental role in mining? Are you keen to gain exposure to all facets of environmental management within the gold mining industry? At Karora, working across all three sites, you will gain exposure to the wide array of environmental aspects associated with the mining and processing of gold. Working on projects from feasibility studies, into implementation and operations, and finally planning for rehabilitation and closure. You will be working with a small dynamic team based at Higginsville and report to the Environmental Superintendent.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Display a commitment to safe working practices and actively promote a safety culture on site.
- Operate in accordance with the Company’s Environmental Policy, and comply with site environmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in monitoring an extensive network of groundwater bores.
- Gain exposure to the approvals, licences, permits and reporting requirements for mining operations in Western Australia.
- Gain an understanding for the importance of environmental outcomes and performance objectives, helping to guide mining operations to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Help in the maintenance and enhancement of Environmental Management System Manuals.
- Initially assist and progress to completing inspections and audits of work areas.
- Minimises waste generation through reduced consumption and increased re-use and recycling.
ABOUT YOU
- Must be an Australian Citizen/Resident and reside in WA
- Knowledge of the Mining Act and the Environmental Protection Act.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Reliable and willing to learn;
- Enjoy hands on learning within a mining environment
- Enjoy working within a team environment.
- Recent University graduate in Environmental science or related field.
