The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Environmental Health Officer to provide effective and efficient service to reduce risks to both public health and the environment. You will be required to undertake inspections of food premises, skin penetration premises, hairdressing/beautician premises, cooling towers/warm water systems, underground petroleum storage systems (UPSS), onsite sewage management systems and public swimming pools/spas.
What we are looking for in you:
•Tertiary level qualification in Environmental Health, Environmental Science or equivalent.
•Ability to work well within and contribute proactively in a team environment.
•Good mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills and ability to liaise effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
•Ability to produce quality work on a wide range of Environmental Health matters, including the preparation of well-written reports, file notes, briefing notes, fact sheets, educational material, and correspondence.
•Knowledge of and capacity to implement legislative and regulatory framework relevant to Environmental Health including, but not limited to the Food Act 2003, Public Health Act 2010, Local
