Job description

Our Central Queensland Public Health Unit is seeking a part time Environmental Health Worker (AO3) to work 45.6 hours per fortnight until 30 June 2025.

About us:

About the role:
Work within a team of Environmental Health Workers in the delivery of Environmental Health services, in response to outbreaks and incidents to address specific public health issues.
About you:
  • To be considered for this role, you must be working toward a tertiary qualification in the field of public or Environmental Health which is accredited by Environmental Health Australia.
  • Experience in Environmental Health would be desirable.
  • With guidance from an Environmental Health Officer, develop a competent level of knowledge, expertise, and skill in Environmental Health, with the ability to apply established methods and procedures toward the completion of routine tasks.
  • Competent level or ability to acquire knowledge in the policy framework governing Environmental Health legislation and standards.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment and to communicate effectively and work in partnership with external organisations and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples.

Total remuneration value of up to $4,740 p.m.. is comprised of:
  • A salary between $37.68 - $41.90 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
