About Us:

Alexandra State High School's leafy campus provides a learning environment where students are both challenged and supported in studying subjects from a very broad and diverse selection.

As a member of the Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy, we are able to offer students special opportunities to explore careers in the resources sector. Through partnerships with other learning providers students are able to commence Degree and Diploma courses and complete Certificate courses whilst at school. We also offer school based traineeships and apprenticeships.

The Department of Education are dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community and schools we support by treating everyone with respect and dignity. This starts recruitment and selection. The methods of assessing suitability in the recruitment process may vary. This includes making reasonable adjustments to support applicants at all stages of the process and employee lifecycle.

  • Promote and market the benefits of the schools technical model to potential employers and other stakeholders and position School Based Apprenticeships as a career pathway preference for students within the region.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers, training providers and apprenticeship support agencies.
  • Form connections and develop partnerships between school and employers that will assist students to transition to employment and make effective career choices.
  • Source vocational training opportunities for prospective students by actively seeking opportunities for student placement in transition to work programs.

Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.

How to Apply:

  • Please attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant previous work history); and
