The purpose of this position is to lead and manage the claims approval team in Resolution Services under the Claims Management Improvement Project, which is responsible for managing and assessing entitlement of claims approval through the Queensland Home Warranty Scheme (QHWS) for defective work and incomplete residential construction work claims. The position will work closely with Managers for Rectification Delivery, Regulatory Services Strategy and Operations Dispute Resolution to ensure project deliverables are met and staff supported during the project and program of works trial.Job details Position status Fixed Term Temporary

Access theThis position is based in Brisbane and flexible arrangements can be considered upon application, including working remotely at a Regional QBCC office subject to availability.Key Outcomes and AccountabilitiesThe aim of this role is to:
- Lead and manage the statewide operation of the centrally managed Resolution Services claims approval team. This will include:
- Ensuring the claims handling performance targets set by the Insurance Committee and project deliverables are achieved.
- Monitoring, reviewing and reporting on performance to achieve the teams and project objectives;
- Ensuring staff are provided with appropriate direction, guidance, training, and assistance;
- Overseeing the administration of the teams business plan and budget; and
- Identifying, recommending and implementing responses to significant issues.
- Respond to complaints from customers in relation to insurance claims.
- Manage the day to day operations of the QHWS claims approval process.
- Participate in project meetings, providing feedback and input to process and change management considerations
- Cultivate sound working relationships with stakeholders including industry associations, community groups, suppliers etc. to provide greater awareness of QBCC and its aims, foster a co-operative or partnership approach to achieving QBCC's aim and keep informed of relevant developments.
- Investigate, assess and guide the team on the application of legislation, policies and procedures, and other regulatory requirements including making decisions on complex matters.
- Assist Senior Leads and Senior Building Inspectors with customer management and expectations in dispute over the technical standard of building work based on expert technical determination.
