Equipment Maintenance and Operations Technician - Mechanical

You'll report to the Maintenance Operations Manager - Adelaide and will work alongside ambitious, driven and team-spirited teammates on the Adelaide Metropolitan Passenger Railway Network vehicles at the Dry Creek Rail Car Depot. Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for scheduled and unscheduled corrective and preventative maintenance work with the aim of ensuring the fleet is running safely, efficiently and conforming to relevant industry standards.

Description

• Inspect and assess the condition of equipment, identifying and correcting electrical and mechanical faults.
• Generate inspection reports and update computer history files to maintain accurate records.
• Drive, fuel, or pilot passenger railcars within the depot.
• Conduct performance tests, including audio, visual, and load testing, and assist with emergency recovery and in-service fault-finding.
• Provide supervision and training to apprentices and Train Support employees.
• Make recommendations to site management for more efficient facility operation.

Profile

• Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Coachbuilding, or related field.
• Possession of a valid South Australian driving license.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High-risk licenses for Crane, Dogman, and Forklift operations. (desired not essential)
• Ability to work as a team player, think forward, and perform tasks with minimal supervision.
