Form of workIn light of an internal promotion, we are seeking an Equipment Specialist with a primary focus on Cat 6040 and 6060 Hydraulic Mining Shovels / Excavators to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Mackay business servicing customers in the Bowen Basin.
As the Equipment Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing overall product health and performance, ensuring customer satisfaction. Serving as the primary liaison between customers and Hastings Deering for all matters related to product support, you will also help support strategic growth in parts and service.
The key responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to:
- Understand the customers weekly, monthly & yearly maintenance & production plans to identify areas of potential improvement.
- Provide customers with trusted, relevant Technical Support and a single point of contact to access further Dealer and OEM services as required.
- Scheduled inspections to assist customers prevent premature failure and costly downtime.
- Deliver accurate reporting of equipment downtime event data into the relevant platform. (AMT).
- Ensure accurate component forecast data in AMT is up to date & validate for future shut-down demand / opportunities.
- Reporting relevant commercial insights into the Customer Relationship Management tool (CRM) for parts and service demand planning.
About You
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar customer facing role.
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, relevant trade qualification or strongly demonstrated industry-related technical acumen is essential.
- Demonstrable experience in establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial customer relationships.
- Experience in the mining, mining services or heavy equipment industries
- Intermediate parts product knowledge and a strong familiarity with the prime product fleet to be managed.
- A sound understanding of Hastings Deering and Caterpillar support systems or similar would be advantageous.
