About the role The Registered Nurses in the ESB and Preadmission Unit work within a multi- Disciplinary team aiming towards a comprehensive plan of care to patients and their families who are waiting for elective and emergency surgery at Ipswich Hospital, this extends to discharge planning for elective surgery patients commencing preoperatively. Nurses in ESB and Preadmission actively manage the elective surgery and emergency patients to provide a smooth progression to surgery within the public and privately contracted service providers. This role may be eligible for the Queensland Health Attraction Incentive. See link – Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Scheme About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following: Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver quality nursing care, whilst working within a risk management framework and in accordance with professional standards. Demonstrated ability to communicate to a high standard and effectively engage with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors whilst displaying a high level of customer service. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others and self to a high standard. Knowledge of and a demonstrated commitment to quality processes and evidence-based practices, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to these improvements. Demonstrated knowledge or demonstration of research into the Specialist Outpatient Department processes and Specialist Outpatient Services Implementation Standards (SOSIS) guidelines that govern the department, while delivering expert nursing care and providing support and direction to other team members.
