Job Description:Downer Utilities is a leading diversified provider across Australia and New Zealand. We have a strong presence in the energy, water and telecommunication sectors and have now embarked on our next phase of growth and performance improvement.The Utilities Strategy and Growth team are requiring an Estimator (Electrical) to support the Substations Construction projects. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert or a recent graduate, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst guiding and advising various stakeholders toward cost-effective and consistent estimation outcomes of project delivery.
Some key responsibilities include:- Cost preparation and estimation for all aspects of transmission line construction.
- Review and analysis of RFT packages and subcontractor quotations.
- Negotiate and influence business solutions pertaining to costing, budgeting and contractual requirements.
- Prepare project bid status reports, provide/ implement tender solutions and ensure compliance across contract specifications and documentation.
- Utilise historical, market and industry data to produce pricing estimates and review actual costs throughout project lifecycle for comparison of accuracy of estimates.
ABOUT YOU- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent trade knowledge, applied through Estimator positions in transmission lines construction, substations and electrical experience.
- Previous experience with Candy system would be desirable;
- Proven ability to build and maintain solid working relationships with clients and vendors;
- Focused and results oriented, driven by excellence, highly autonomous with a sense of urgency; and
- Strong business acumen with a sound understanding of the commercial drivers.
