Due to continued growth, we have a newly created Melbourne-based position overseeing our Estimator and Supervisor teams. The 'Estimator/ Supervisor Manager - Victoria' role is full-time (42.5 hours), Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm. There work model is a hybrid of a work from home model plus site visits/ Melbourne office attendance.

This role will sit in our Management tier and work with other similar Managers across CRA Building Services.

The Role
This position, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, will
- Provide cohesive leadership and oversight to the Estimator and Supervisor (Victoria) teams including contributing to the support, mentoring, and day-to-day supervision of the team to meet targets.
- Work with Senior Management to analyse and prepare Insurer data for Insurer Performance Sessions.
- Manage CRA's systems to record and review data to conduct trend analysis and create strategy.
- Undertake daily team management duties including (but not limited to); staff training, hosting team meetings and social events, managing leave requests and handovers, and other staff-related duties
- Monitor staff performance and development, and address staff performance issues.
- Provide support to staff with complex cases, and assist with overflow of work when needed including management of staffing needs during weather event situations.
- Provide technical support to the Estimator and Supervisor teams via dynamic and status methods.
- Provide support to staff when an escalation is required.
- Coordinate and facilitate regular Staff Development Sessions meetings with team members.
- Ensure the Estimator and Supervisor (Victoria) teams are meeting insurer SLAs and KPIs.
- Monitor staff workloads to ensure that they are sustainable.
- Work with Senior Management to identify and develop talent in the Estimator and Supervisor teams.
- Work with Senior Management to maintain a positive team culture and effective structure.
- Complete a reduced claim caseload to assist with incoming work, as directed by management.
- Assist HR with recruitment, staffing changes, rosters and other HR processes, as needed.
- Assist Accounts with invoicing queries.
Key criteria - What experience is required
Knowledge/Qualifications/Licenses:
- Essential: Minimum 2 years, recent proven experience in a similar role.
- Essential: Thorough knowledge of the residential building/ construction industry.
- Essential: Current White Card and current unrestricted driver's licence.
- Desirable: A trade qualification.
- Desirable: Supervisor's registration is a definite advantage.
Skills/Experience:
- Proficiency in team leadership and adept at optimising team performance
- Experience in leading and motivation cross-functional teams collaboratively to achieve team goals.
- Ability to oversee Insurance Repairs in residential settings.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, and an ability to manage high-quality outcomes within strict KPI time frames.
- Advanced verbal and written skills including the ability to draft correspondence, reports and emails.
- Excellent communication skills in managing contractors and trades.
- Proficient technology skills including the use of computer software and portal-based technologies.
- An understanding of the Building Code of Australia.
- Ability to maintain safe work practices in line with OH&S policies and procedures through understanding the Occupational Health and Safety Act (2004).
- A commitment to ongoing professional education and training.
