Bukmak Constructions is a subsidiary business of ALPA. Created in 2016 to provide the East Arnhem Land communities which ALPA services with a viable, ongoing Construction business, with a focus on up-skilling, training and continuity of employment for local community members, whilst working alongside skilled trades mentors to deliver quality works on time and within budgets.
Bukmak Constructions has developed into a significant provider of construction works in the East Arnhem Region and continues to have a positive ongoing presence within the communities its services.
About the role
In this newly created role, you will apply construction knowledge to enable the effective design and delivery of minor building projects in remote communities. You will be responsible for cost management, sub-contractor management and utilise your knowledge of building codes to assist in the development of complete and accurate
Responsibilities

• In collaboration with the Project Development/Estimator, oversee construction projects from creation to completion.
• Co-ordinate accurate estimation, design, and pricing of scope of works, service delivery agreements.
• Assist with procurement and allocation of all resources.
• Assist with effective planning & scheduling of logistics required per project.
• Have oversight and administer all assigned works to ensure compliance with agreed terms and current legislation.
• Assist with preparation and submission of Tenders.
• Observe all WHS and ALPA policy requirements to contribute to a safe, healthy and ethical workplace.

Skills and experience

• Sound knowledge of construction and general maintenance processes, best practice workplace health safety and environmental management practices.
• Good written and oral communication skills including the ability to prepare and submit contract administration, procurement, and project management documentation.
• Previous experience working in or with remote locations.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, project management and various design & productivity tools.
• Good working knowledge of the requirements of the relevant legislation and policies, as applied in the Northern Territory as well as a range of Australian Standards, Codes of Practice, and associated Guidelines.
• Current Driver’s Licence and White Card
