About the role
We are currently in search of an accomplished Maintenance and Facilities Management professional to take charge of maintaining the Caloundra RSL’s assets and facilities. This role demands a proactive individual with extensive trade qualifications, adept contractor management abilities, and exceptional leadership skills.
This is a full time role which will require work to be performed as needed, this may include some evenings, weekends and public holidays. The candidate will report directly to the Compliance Manager and must demonstrate a track record of effectively overseeing capital projects and delivering successful preventative maintenance programs. A focus on positive customer experiences, coupled with a comprehensive knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards and regulations, is imperative for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Maintenance team and oversee all maintenance activities on club property.
- Coordinate with contractors and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and effectively implement preventative maintenance programs
- Manage Essential Services to ensure uninterrupted operation.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to align development projects with our club's master plan.
- Foster collaborative relationships with all departments to effectively address issues as they arise.
- Ability to perform emergency maintenance tasks beyond regular working hours.
Qualifications and experience:
- Demonstrated ability to implement and execute the Club Master Plan.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in building construction, facility management, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Experience managing budgets and contracts.
- Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in reading architectural drawings and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with facilities management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, building codes, and safety standards.
- Previous maintenance experience in hospitality venue environments preferred.
- Technical Trades qualification (e.g., Carpentry) required.
- Multi-skilled with the ability to perform hands-on repair and maintenance work.
Desirable Licenses:
- Forklift license.
- Heavy Rigid Driver's License.
