ABOUT THE DIVISION & TEAMThe Procurement Division is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the Australian Government’s Buy Australian Plan, an ambitious program of procurement reform being delivered across the Australian Public Service. The Division is responsible for strengthening engagement with states and territories to deliver economic, social, and environmental benefits to Australia through procurement, and engaging directly with businesses and industry sectors to help lift their capability to successfully compete for government contracts.The Communication and Industry Engagement team is responsible for:
- engaging with businesses and industry groups to better understand their experience when engaging with Australian Government procurement and contracting;
- designing and delivering events aimed at helping business promote their offerings to Australian Government buyers, including sectoral market days, meet the buyer/supplier events and a procurement and contract management conference;
- developing and managing the Selling to Government website content and digital media aimed at helping businesses discover, compete for and win Australian Government contracts; and
- engaging with states and territories on relevant strategic procurement and contract management issues and better practice.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYAn opportunity exists for an experienced
Event Manager to lead the design and delivery of a conference for procurement and contract management officials to network, build their capability and engage with colleagues on a range of topical matters. The successful candidate will:
- work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders across the APS and private sector to design and deliver the Australian Government Procurement and Contract Management Conference (Conference);
- manage a program of works which includes the Conference and Departmental inter-related projects;
- build and effectively lead a high performing hybrid team comprising dedicated resources and surge resources to support delivery of business and industry facing objectives of the Buy Australian Plan; and
- deliver communication and project management artefacts, Departmental and Ministerial briefing material.
