About the opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Event Manager to run end-to-end strategic events that focus on the University’s greatest minds and showcase our teaching, learning and research. With guidance from Senior Event Managers within the team, you will take initiative on in person, hybrid and online events ranging from industry breakfasts, gala dinners, launches, seminars, conferences and more.
About you
- have demonstrated extensive experience managing multi-faceted events or major projects in a large and complex organisation (ideally within tertiary education)
- good administration skills, including record and budget keeping, reporting, and process improvement, with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks whilst maintaining exceptional attention to detail;
- excellent interpersonal, organisation, communication, stakeholder management and customer service skills, including the ability to confidently liaise with a broad range of stakeholders and audiences
- capacity to manage a range of complex issues simultaneously, plan and execute workflows and meet deadlines

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
