Strathalbyn Race Club is one of the most beautiful race clubs in SA, having been formed in 1922 and is surrounded by rolling hills, picturesque valleys and vineyards. Strathalbyn is one of Australia’s prettiest towns, settled by Scottish pioneers in 1839. The charming historic town of Strathalbyn is recognised as one of South Australia’s loveliest rural destinations, and only 50 minutes from Adelaide, and a short drive to the beach town Goolwa.

We are a dynamic and Innovative race club that has some great event spaces, from our members room, green room and Alcopop room with great bars, and lovely external grounds. Our objective is to provide exceptional experiences for our guests through memorable Events and top-notch service, and we are on a growth phase.

We are now looking for a customer eccentric passionate Events and Bar Manager to lead us towards our vision.

Job Description:

• Oversee all aspects of event planning and management, including coordinating with clients, vendors, and staff to ensure successful events.
• Race Day Bar trade reporting and reconciliation.
• Bar set-up and stocking of all bar fridges, understanding Bar POS.
• Host relations in conference rooms-making sure guests and sponsors are being catered and cared for.
• Organising Race Day entertainment, if required. (Musician, Fashion Show, Jumping castles etc.)
• RSA – Beverage and Bar service. Relief Bar Staff when necessary.
• Manage the bar operations, including inventory, ordering, stock control, staff scheduling, and maintaining quality service standards.
• Develop and implement creative and profitable bar promotions and events to drive business and enhance the customer experience.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety within the bar and event spaces.
• Handle administrative tasks such as budgeting, reporting, and maintaining records of Events and Bar operations.
• Some knowledge of Xero, Moshtix or Eventbrite will be an advantage, but training can also be provided.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
• Work with the CEO on Conference Packages, Costs and GP margins.
• Assist with driving external Events and social media in increasing sales.

Qualifications:

• Experience in event management and Bar operations will be advantageous, with a strong track record of successful Events and effective bar management.
• Excellent leadership and supervisory skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build relationships with clients, staff, and vendors.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the capability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously, as well as providing ROI on events.
• In-depth knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and legal regulations related to Events and Bar management.
• RSA licence and Security Clearance is a prerequisite for this position.

• The role is currently part-time of 38 hours @ $32.19 ph(Includes 11% Superannuation) over a fortnight period, and as we increase more events, this role can expand to a full-time role.
