About our opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a leader to join our fun and energetic team at the Morayfield Sport & Events Centre (MSEC)!
MSEC is a dynamic and busy multi-purpose venue, comprising of five indoor timber sprung courts, a large indoor event space, meeting rooms and an onsite cafe that can be hired to facilitate and cater Events and activities for over 3000 people, 7 days a week. Successful applicants will be required to work nights and weekends on a rotating roster.
In this role, you will:
- provide leadership, direction and support to the MSEC service staff to deliver positive service experiences and foster a positive working environment
- oversee and assist with routine hospitality and catering services including the preparation and service of food and beverage, in compliance with food and liquor license obligations
- be a part of the events team and ensure all activities during events run smoothly
This is a hands-on role and you will be expected to lead by example. We anticipate the roster will be Monday - Thursday from 1:00pm - 10:00pm and Sundays with hours ranging between 6:00am - 10:00pm.
About you
- You’re a team player that loves to partner and contribute to a positive work environment.
- You are confident in leading and supervising a team.
- You are collaborative and pragmatic in your approach to providing quality customer service.
- You are self-motivated, show initiative and have the ability to exercise independent judgement.
- You have strong administration skills, attention to detail and experience using POS and computer systems.
- You have experience working in fast-paced food and hospitality focused businesses.
- You have experience with Events and/or catering.
To be successful in this role you must possess/be willing to obtain within 30 days of commencement:
- A current Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV) certificate.
- A current Apply First Aid Certification and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification
- A current Queensland Working with Children Blue Card.
