Mercure Clear Mountain Lodge is a 4-star boutique style lodge overlooking stunning views of Lake Samsonvale, Glass House Mountains, Moreton Bay and the city skyline. Just 35 minutes from Brisbane CBD and 10 minutes from Eatons Hill and Samford Valley the Lodge comprises 51 accommodation rooms, a la carte restaurant, dedicated modern conference rooms and a busy well-appointed reception centre known for hosting outstanding weddings, functions and events.
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Events Coordinator initially to cover twelve months maternity leave but with the view that this maybe a permanent position. We are looking for someone who is a natural “people’s person” with a “can do” attitude and can take ownership of the client journey through the booking process, coordination and successful completion of our weddings, functions and conferences.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- manage booking reservations over the phone, via email and in person
- conduct personalised site inspections
- being the point of contact for clients through the event journey to assist and coordinate menu selection, seating layout and additional special requirements such as AV, signage, styling and entertainment
- creating and distributing accurate event orders for key operational staff
- function set up and on-the-day event execution
- processing function payments and keeping accurate advance deposit records
- maintain a high level of satisfaction from current and perspective clients to ensure repeat business
- negotiate and prepare quotes in a timely and professional manor
Ideally, but not essential you’ll have
- a relevant qualification OR at least 3 years of relevant experience
- demonstrated experience with the sales process and event coordination
- experience with reservations, front office, and function software
- high attention to detail, be organised and thrive under pressure
- exceptional skills in both written and verbal communication
- passion and motivation to ensure every event instills a long-lasting wonderful experience
