The Role
We are seeking a driven and motivated Sales & Events Coordinator who specialises in generating sales within the Hospitality and Tourism sector! The ideal person will have a strong key focus on sales generation within the corporate, tourism and event markets – knowing what to offer in the current climate and which consumers to pitch to.
A fundamental key driver to the success of this role will be to continuously work towards increasing sales leads with a high level of quality client interaction, leading by example and demonstrating genuine hospitality to guests, clients and your colleagues.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Sales and Events professional seeking a new challenge, at a key moment with a growing hospitality group, that will appreciate and value your contribution to their respected brands. Reporting to the General Manager, this role will be a hybrid role working minimum 3 days in our Stradbroke Island venue and 2 days located in Brisbane CBD. Must be flexible and available to work on weekends and nights when managing events.
Key Responsibilities
As the Sales & Events Coordinator, your key responsibilities include:
- Take ownership of all incoming sales inquiries and leads.
- Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries via email, phone, and in-person meetings.
- Utilise effective sales techniques (cold calling) to find and source new sales leads, and convert leads into confirmed bookings.
- Collaborate closely with internal operations such as accommodation, kitchen and bar to communicate client requirements and preferences ensuring the seamless operation of events.
- Act as a liaison between clients and onsite staff to address any concerns or special requests during events.
- Organise and conduct site inspections for prospective clients.
- Host final detail meetings with clients to confirm event logistics and requirements.
- Ensure that all client expectations are clearly understood and met.
- Create comprehensive event proposals and BEOs tailored to client needs and budget.
- Draft contracts outlining event details, terms, and conditions.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of each event.
- Evaluating and critically analysing all events following their delivery, including seeking customer feedback
- Attend and manage on-site events including weddings, birthdays, conferences, etc.
About You
- 2+ years’ experience in Sales & Events coordination or a similar position (hospitality essential)
- Tertiary qualifications in Hospitality Management, Events and Communications, or related field (optional)
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client needs.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- A positive attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
- Ability to work with allocated budgets
