About the Role
This presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Event Coordinator to join the Strategic Communications team's mission to deliver integrated communications and stakeholder engagement of the highest standard. In this role, you will have the chance to combine your strategic vision, stakeholder management skills, and event planning expertise to develop and execute an annual program of priority events, which is a key pillar of the faculty’s reputational and relationship goals.
You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end events lifecycle, leading a range of virtual, in-person, and hybrid events to help achieve the faculty’s and University’s strategic objectives. As a significant contributor, you will ensure successful alignment between the faculty’s communication and organisational objectives, ultimately driving event strategy success and stakeholder satisfaction.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop the Faculty of Science’s annual priority events program, including ideas development and writing strategic events proposals and evaluations.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of events, this includes planning, budgeting, coordinating, promoting, delivering, evaluating and reporting.
- Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure all audiences are considered and event content is leveraged across all channels.
- Ensure events are delivered on time, within assigned budget to meet the strategic objectives of the division and the institution.
Who we are looking for
We’re looking for a creative thinker with an eye for detail, a commitment to excellence in event strategy, and a passion for helping people have a good time. You should have strong written and communication skills, high-level organisational abilities, and effective time management. The ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, and build and maintain collaborative relationships are essential for this role.
You will also have:
- Proven experience in coordinating the delivery of a broad range of events, including complex high-profile public events.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for all audiences and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to coordinate and direct service providers and external contractors to meet deliverables.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
